Mexico's Wimmelbild

I was lucky to have been selected as one of 14 illustrators around the globe to create a typical and colorful scene that the world fondly associates with a country for Lufthansa airlines. In my case, Mexico. In this destination scene, many interesting & entertaining situations take place in a teeming crowd. In addition (most important), Lufthansa logo will be hidden in the scene that the viewer needs to find. Go and find it to win excellent prices!

After first corrections, I started collecting images, books, text and as much as I thought could help me to complement the work.

Then I started to draw a more detailed composition to show to the client.

After some last pencil corrections, I was ready to start applying the first phase of the technique (indian ink).

Thought the artline was done, but then I was told it needed to have more people in entertaining situations, which I drew and added digitally on the main composition.

After the artline was completed, I scanned it and started to add the colour in Illustrator and Photoshop (actually, this was a difficult stage, not because of the nauture of it, but because I got terribly ill in those moments but I had to keep going!
